Name: Balwinder Singh Sethi
University: Cape Breton University Capers
Sport: Men's track and field

Year of eligibility: Second
Sophomore Balwinder Singh Sethi of the Cape Breton University (CBU) Capers raced to a bronze medal in the 60m hurdles at the 2023 Subway Atlantic University Sport (AUS) Track and Field Championships in Saint John over the weekend.
Heading into the meet, the student-athlete only planned to run in the 300m, but - two days before the competition - he was cleared for the hurdles. Battling injuries throughout the season, he did not train for that discipline. Nevertheless, despite the lack of training and tough lane assignment, he fashioned his third-place performance in a CBU record time of 8.86.
Singh also placed fifth in the 300m (37.01), and ran the second leg for the Caper 4X400m relay team that finished seventh in the final.
He earned six of the 10 points collected by the CBU men's side during the two-day event.
Singh was named the CBU male athlete of the meet.
