CAPERS MEN WRAP UP WEEKEND
CBU fall to Acadia 95-76
Sydney, N.S) - The CAPERS hustled hard on Saturday night against the Acadia Axemen at the Sullivan Field House but couldn't come up with the win. Acadia moved to 2-2 with the victory, while the CAPERS fell to 0-4 on the season.
The CAPERS were led in scoring by Kenny Jean-Louis (Montreal, QC) with 22pts and 10 rebounds and got another scrappy performance from Blake Gallatly (Maffra, AUS). The Aussie finished with 16 points. Acadia used a balanced scoring attack with 6 players hitting double digits. Nick De Palma (Bedford, NS) had 17, while Erik Nissen (Quispamsis, NB) had a big night on the boards with 15 to go with his 13 points.
The Axemen used a strong first quarter to get out to a 30-23 lead and never looked back. The CAPERS put up 25 three point attempts while to trying to get back into the game. The CAPERS were able to trim the deficit to 10 midways through the 3rd quarter but couldn't complete the comeback.
The CAPERS will next travel to Newfoundland on November 19th and 20th to square off against Memorial University. The Axewomen will return home to host the UPEI Panthers on November 18th and 19th.
The CAPERS next home game will be Wednesday, November 23rd against St. Francis Xavier.
