Sydney, NS – The CAPERS gave a valiant effort in front of a boisterous crowd Wednesday and it nearly paid off. The CAPERS were tight with the X-Men most of the night until a stretch in the third quarter when St.FX pulled away for a 102-91 win. The CAPERS fall to 0-7 with the loss, while the X-men improved to 3-3.
The CAPERS were once again led by the leading scorer Kenny Jean-Louis (Montreal, QC) who finished with 20 points, 12 assists and 9 rebounds. Junior Moaku-Matia (Hamilton, ON) also had a strong game with 16 points and 4 rebounds. Jack MacAulay was 3 for 5 from downtown and chipped in 2 rebounds and 1 assists.
The X-Men out-rebounded the CAPERS 51-30 which led to 16 second chance points. Kevin Bercy (Kanata, ON) led X in scoring with 20 points and 15 rebounds. X also had 5 other players score in double digits in a balanced attack.
The X-men will play host to Saint Mary's on November 26th. The CAPERS will now break for the semester. They open the second half by hosting the UNB Varsity Reds on January 6th, with tip off at 8pm
