Mascoe Joins CAPERS
Ontario Guard officially joins Cape Breton University.
Sydney, N.S. – Cape Breton University and CAPERS men's basketball head coach David Petroziello are pleased to announce the commitment of George Brown Huskie guard Kevon Mascoe to Cape Breton University for the upcoming season.
The 6'2" guard from Scarborough, ON is a former OCAA Championship All-Star. The Scarborough, ON native chose Cape Breton because of an excellent relationship with coach Petroziello. "I chose CBU because I developed a good connection with coach." said Mascoe." Although it is far from home, it'll keep me focused on my books and basketball."
"Kevon is a difference maker on both sides of the basketball and I am excited that he will be joining us at CBU to complete his degree and post-secondary basketball career." Said Coach Petrozeillo. "Kevon has been well schooled in the game over his time at George Brown College by Coach Smith and his staff, and his physical and athletic tools will instantly help our perimeter defense while his shot-making and ability to finish at the rim will mean increased flexibility within our offensive system."
Petroziello added, "He is a humble and competitive young man whose character will compliment and support the development of our culture now and into the future."
When Mascoe was asked how he sees himself helping the CAPERS for the 2017-18 season, Mascoe pointed out that he can help in several ways. "I feel like I can affect the game on offence and defence for the CAPERS. I'm an athletic guard that can play above the rim, shoot the three and defend opposing threats.
