Sydney, NS - The Cape Breton University CAPERS men's soccer team enjoyed a successful Saturday afternoon. The CAPERS beat the Memorial University Seahawks 3-1on a rainy day in AUS action.
With the win, the CAPERS move to 3-1-1 on the season while the Seahawks drop to 1-2-1. The CAPERS were powered by two 1st half goals by 2nd year defender Daniel Pritchard (Nuneaton, UK) and freshman mid-fielder Marcus Campanile (Edinburgh, SCO). The SeaHawks started the 2nd half strong with a strike by Tyler Forsey. Campanile was able to score again in the second-half to put the game away for the CAPERS.
1st-year keeper, Jamie Wilson (Dunbar, SCO) earned another victory for the CAPERS by controlling the game from back. Daniel Pritchard was awarded the Subway Player of the Game.
The CAPERS are in action again on Sunday against the Mount Allison Mounties, start time is 3.15pm. Memorial continues their road trip at St.FX.
