Moncton, NB - The Cape Breton University CAPERS beat Moncton 3-0 on Sunday afternoon in AUS action. The CAPERS have now won 7 straight games to take over first place in the AUS standings. Moncton suffered another loss to drop to 1-8-1.
The CAPERS received two strikes from Caelann Budhoo (Winnipeg, MB) early in the first half to get out in front early. Joel Eckert-Ayensa(Pulhaim, GER) added some insurance in the 38th minute. The CAPERS then shutdown the Moncton attack for the rest of the way to cruise to the victory.
The CAPERS outshot Moncton 8-4 and Cape Breton goalie Ben Jackson (Bury, UK) earned the clean sheet. Moncton's Maxime Cormier took the loss for the Aigles de Bleus.
The CAPERS next travel to St.Mary's and Acadia next Saturday and Sunday to try and keep their perfect record intact. Both games start at 3:15pm.
