WOLFVILLE, N.S. – Two goals in the second half lifted the Acadia Axemen soccer team past the CIS No. 5 ranked Cape Breton Capers. The AUS first place Capers were handed only their second defeat of the season as the Axemen prevailed 2-0 and improve to 7-1-2.After a scoreless first half that marred by rain and wind, the Axemen scored three minutes into the second half when Travis Fenning headed a ball in the box to give Acadia a 1-0 lead. The goal was Fenning's sixth of the season. Fifth year defender Andrew Snyder scored his second goal of the season after Jordan Fabri kept a corner kick in the box and Snyder capitalized on the free ball. The Capers pressured late in the game against a stiff wind but couldn't break the goose egg. Senior keeper Nigel Goodwin recorded the win and improved to 2-0-2 with only one shot on net from the Capers. Acadia landed six shots on Caper keeper Ben Jackson. Jackson's winning record drops to 3-2-0.Cape Breton holds onto first place with an 8-2-1 record, while the Axemen trail the Capers by two points with a 7-1-2 record and a game in hand. Cape Breton will host StFX this coming Saturday afternoo
