Defending Champs Add Striker
The CBU CAPERS men's program has added striker Charlie Waters!!!
Sydney, N.S. – Cape Breton University and CAPERS men's soccer coach Deano Morley are pleased to announce the commitment of Myerscough College Charlie Waters to the CAPERS for 2017.
The 5'10" striker from Blackpool, England arrives with a proven scorer's pedigree. Waters hopes to help push the CAPERS men's soccer program towards a U Sports National Championship in the coming seasons.
The Englishman chose CBU to help achieve his degree goals and gain an international learning experience while continuing to play soccer. Waters said, "I chose CBU as everything Coach Deano Morley spoke to me about was very appealing and the university itself looks very attractive."
"We are very excited to welcome Charlie to the program; I have really enjoyed getting to know him." said Morley". "He is mature, focussed and disciplined. On the field he is a fast, talented forward with a natural instinct to score goals", pointed out Morley.
Morley added, "He will be a dynamic striker and with the players around him I anticipate Charlie scoring many goals and being a great addition to our program both on and off the field."
When Waters was asked how he sees himself helping the CAPERS next season, Waters anticipates himself adding to a great offense. "I see myself scoring and creating goals for the team." said Waters.
The CBU CAPERS men's soccer program are the defending AUS champions and finished 4th at the U Sports National Championships. The CAPERS open defense of their title when they host Saint Mary's on September 9th at 3.15pm.
