(FREDERICTON, NB) The Cape Breton University CAPERS scored three seconld half goals to beat the UNB Varsity Reds 3-0, Saturday at UNB's BMO Centre.
Keona Simmonds (Brampton, ON) scored the eventual game-winner in the 57th minute. Ciera Disipio(Ottawa, ON) and Rachel Leck(Pickering, ON) added goals in the 65th
and 73rd minute respectively. Disipio drew an assist on Leck's goal, earning Subway Player of the Game honours. It was a really tiring game to play in the heat, but it was
worth it. It was a great game, said Disipio. Lysianne Trottier(Barrie, ON) earned the shut-out in the CAPERS goal. They're fast, they're technical, said Varsity Reds fullback Emily
Burton(Halifax, NS). There were a couple of good runs by them, they got their crosses in, found the soft spot and put it in the net. The Capers improve to 2-0 with the win, and head
to Moncton for a game on Sunday. The Varsity Reds are now 0-3. UNB hosts St FX on Sunday. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00pm. I think as a group we're still working together and
getting better and filling in those gaps. I think, for tomorrow, we'll be ready to go, said Burton.
