WSOC: Huskies hand CAPERS 1st loss of season
Heavy rains played a large part in a surprising 1-0 Saint Mary’s victory over the defending champion CAPERS.

Sydney, NS – Heavy rains played a large part in a surprising 1-0 Saint Mary's victory over the defending champion CAPERS. Huskies Anna Erikson scored the only goal of the game 11 minutes in on a goal-mouth scramble. SMU Keeper turned aside 12 shots kept the CAPERS off the scoreboard. Haley Kardas (Halifax, NS) took the loss for the CAPERS.
Turning Point: The CAPERS hit the post early In the second half and had many chances near the end of the game but weren't able to capitalize.

* CBU's Freeman led with 4 shots on goal
* There were no assists in the game
* The Huskies Erikson had the only goal
* SMU's Kyanna Gilks stopped all 12 shots she faced
* Gilks was awarded Subway Player of the Game for her relentless effort.
