In a U SPORTS Top 10 matchup last week, third-year Cape Breton striker Alliyah Rowe (Kitchener, Ont.) scored the first goal of the game in the 32nd minute after a corner kick. X-Women keeper Christina Gentile (Laval, QC) got a hand on the ball off the kick, but the rebound came right to Rowe, who deposited it in the net.
The Capers then travelled to Charlottetown to take on the UPEI Panthers Sunday afternoon, where they doubled the home team 4-2. Rowe led the way with two goals one minute apart in the 35th and 36th minutes of the match, bringing her weekend scoring total to three goals and one assist.
The Bachelor of Arts student leads the AUS conference with eight goals and 33 shots.
