Sydney, NS - It was a nail bitter of a game in AUS men's basketball action tonight in the Sullivan Fieldhouse. The CBU CAPERS took the win over the UNB Reds in dramatic fashion in the last few minutes of the 4th quarter.
The Reds started off hot in the first quarter keeping the lead over the CAPERS at the buzzer 20-17. CBU went for a run late in the second quarter and took the lead to end the half ahead 47-37.
The Reds crept back up in the third quarter finishing it even with the CAPERS at 64 points each. The two teams were neck and neck with the Reds pulling ahead by 3 with little time left to go in the game. The CAPERS managed an 11 point run in the final minutes to take the win.
Connor Landell was the player of the game for the Reds and Stefan Anisko was the Subways of CBRM player of the game for the CAPERS.
The CAPERS will face the Reds tomorrow, Saturday, November 1 with the women playing at 2pm followed by the men's game at 4:00 pm.
