Capers, Moncton draw 1-1

In a battle for sole possession of first place overall in AUS women's soccer, the Cape Breton University Capers and the Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleus battled to a 1-1 tie in Sydney, Sunday.
Cape Breton improves to 5-0-4 on the season while Moncton sits at 6-3-1. The two clubs and the Dalhousie Tigers are now in a three-way tie for first with 19 points apiece.
Kelsey-Lynn Nowe opened the scoring for the Capers in the eighth minute of the contest.
Donya Salomon-Ali replied for the visitors in the 30th minute and the two teams took the 1-1 tie to half.
While the Capers pressured in the second half, scoring opportunities by Chelsea Currie and Shanice Maxwell went unrewarded.
Tiffany O'Donnell made six saves for the Capers. Catherine Poirier had nine saves for Moncton.
