MBB: CAPERS win 2 of 3 over the weekend
The Cape Breton CAPERS continued their preseason schedule with two victories in the Mickey Place Tournament.
Sydney, NS - The CBU CAPERS spent their weekend in Prince Edward Island participating the Mickey Place preseason tournament. The CAPERS won 2 of 3 games over the weekend. The weekend started with a 91-79 loss to the host and fellow AUS member UPEI Panthers on Friday night. 1st Year CAPER Osman Omar led the team with 24 points. CBU bounced back on Saturday with a 100-82 win over ACAA's Mount Allison Mounties. 5th-year player Kyle Hankins and 1st-year CAPER Paul Watson led the way with 19 points apiece. The CAPERS ended the weekend on a winning note with an 84-65 victory over NAIA team University of Maine, Fort Kent Bengals 84-65. Another 1st-year CAPER, Grant Dickinson led the CAPERS with 21 points.
The CAPERS continue their preseason schedule next weekend when they will be travelling to Antigonish for the X Tip-Off Tournament. The CAPERS are led by 2nd-Year Head Coach David Petroziello and feature 12 new players.
The CAPERS first home game is November 10th, they will host the Saint Mary's Huskies. The men tip off at 8 pm, while the women will start off at 6 pm.
