Dorsey honoured again

Jimmy Dorsey of the Cape Breton Capers men’s basketball team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport Male Athlete of the Week and the Capers Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 12, 2012.
Dorsey, a fourth-year guard from Baltimore, MD., averaged a triple-double (34.5 points, 13.0 assists, 10.0 rebounds) in a pair of home wins this past weekend as the Capers defeated the first place UPEI Panthers and second place Acadia Axemen to move into third place in the AUS standings with a record of 10-6.
In Saturday’s 111-90 win over the first place Panthers, Jimmy recorded his second triple-double of the season with 20 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists.
In Sunday’s 111-106 victory over the Axemen, Dorsey exploded for a school record 49 points, which included eight three-pointers. The 6-foot-2 senior also had 14 assists, eight rebounds and three steals in the contest for his league-leading eighth double-double of the season.
His 49-point performance stands as the sixth highest total ever registered in an Atlantic conference game and breaks the single-game Capers record of 46 set last season by Paris Carter.
Dorsey, a two-time first team AUS all-star, leads the conference in scoring with an average of 23.1 points per game and assists with 8.9 per game. He is also fifth in rebounding (7.8 per game), second in steals (2.7 per game) and first in three-point field goals made (3.43 per game).
