Capers rout Huskies 85-64
(SYDNEY, N.S.)- The Cape Breton University Capers improved to 9-1 at Sullivan Fieldhouse this season with their big win over the Saint Mary's University Huskies on Saturday night. The Capers controlled the game from start to finish and routed the Huskies by a score of 85-64.
Meschack Lufile was unstoppable in the post in the contest and scored a season-high 36 points to go along with nine rebounds in the win. Akeem Isaac-Phillip also played well for the Capers, putting up 12 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three steals.
The Capers also had Cedric Kasongo and Kayon Mayers provide a spark off of the bench and contribute. Kasongo netted 13 points while Mayers had 12 points to go along with five assists.
The Capers shot 52 percent from the field on Saturday night and rode great first and fourth quarters to a victory.
The Huskies will look to finish their season with a pair of victories against StFX and UPEI. They host X at 8 p.m. Friday and UPEI at 8 p.m. on Saturday.
