Sydney, NS – The CAPERS lost a close battle 84-83 to the UNB Reds on Saturday afternoon as the teams split a pair of weekend contests. The CAPERS gained a lead with a strong 30-20 third quarter but were unable to maintain the lead. The Reds came storming back in the 4thquarter to edge the CAPERS. The Reds were led by Ibrahima Doumbouya and Chris Spurrell with 18 points each. Daniel Levitt also had a string game coming off the bench for UNB with 16 points. The CAPERS were led in scoring by Osman Omar (Mississauga, ON) with 21 points. Shacier Locke (Mississauga, ON) had his second straight strong game with 17 points and 8 rebounds in a losing cause.
Turning point – The Reds came back from a 12-point deficit at the end of the 3rdquarter. They used a 23-10 4thquarter to complete the comeback. broke open a close game going on a 24-10 run to close out the game.
