CAPERS break MUN defensive wall late!
(Sydney, NS) - As the game started between the CBU Capers and the Memorial Sea-Hawks you could tell the strategy of the Sea-Hawks was to play a very defensive game with 10 players back behind there own half and when they get possession of the ball they make a rush all at once and it did seem to work as they got a quick shot on Caper keeper (Viktor Lyczywek, Toronto, ON) but he made a great save.

Most of the first half was chippy with cards being raised and fouls being called left and right, it also consisted of the CBU Capers trying to figure out a way to get past the suffocating Memorial defense with a few shots coming from Corey Bent (Preston, UK) and Daniel Willams (Pierrefonds, QC) but the keeper found a way to stop them. Memorial's keeper wasn't the only one playing great though because (Viktor Lyczywek Toronto, ON) made a few nice saves throughout the first half to keep it scoreless and the half ended with a 0-0 tie.
The start of the second half started wasn't different from the first with Memorial still playing a strong defensive formation. In the 51st minute, Cory Bent (Preston, UK) had a nice cross to Lewis White (Musselburgh, UK) but it went off the crossbar and the game remained scoreless. A great sign to look for in the future is how great of a duo Lewis White (Musselburgh, UK) and Corey Bent (Preston, UK) are, in the open field they are always looking for each other and even when they pass it they run the perfect route to look for the pass back and they have been successful in the past and you have to believe they will be a very successful duo in the future.
Corey Bent (Preston, UK) tried to score himself but again the ball went wide, and there was a very smart run by Caelan Budhoo (Winnipeg, MB) to look for the cross but it was a bit too high for the header. Late in the game around the 82nd minute Peter Schaale (Bernkastel-Kues, DE) had a shot at the net but another savewas made by the keeper and not long after a group of shots from Peter Schale and Jesse Macintyre (New Waterford, NS) but they were deflected by Sea-Hawks defenders and still the scoreboard was filled with zeros.
In the 88th minute after it seemed like this game was going to end a draw out of nowhere Marcus Campanile (Edinburgh, UK) got the ball and quickly shot at the net before the defense had a chance to suffocate him with bodies and it found the back of the net! That would be your game-winning goal!
