McClurkin leaves Sullivan Fieldhouse on winning note

The Cape Breton University Capers rolled to their fourth consecutive win Saturday, thumping the Acadia Axewomen 87-54 in ASU women's basketball action in Sydney.
Freshmen sensation Alison Keough led the Capers attack again Saturday, recording 28 points on 13-of-18 shooting and grabbing eight rebounds as the Capers improved to 11-8 overall and strengthened their hold on second spot in the AUS standings.
Colleen Keane had 14 points and eight rebounds and Keisha Lespoir 10 points for the home side.
In her final home game as a Caper, fifth-year guard Tanira McClurkin finished with 10 points, six assists and six steals.
Abbey Duinker had 25 points and 11 rebounds in a losing cause.
The Capers will look to lock up second place and a first-round playoff bye next weekend when they finish the regular season on the road against the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds.
