McClurkin paces Capers past MUN 80-65

The Cape Breton University Capers women's basketball team opened a weekend home stand with an 80-65 victory over the Memorial Sea-hawks Saturday.
Fifth-year guard Tanira MClurkin picked up Subway Player of the Game honours after pouring in a game-high 23 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field.
Rookies Valentina Primossi with 11 points and four assists and Keishia Lespoir with 10 points were other top players for the Capers, who improved to 2-1 overall.
Keila Pong had 13 points to lead Memorial while Chante Clarke chipped in with 10 points in a losing cause.
CBU and Memorial will square off again Sunday in an 11 a.m. start at the Sullivan Fieldhouse.
