Joining the Fabian McKenzie coached CAPERS will be Sarah Hiscock from Mount Pearl, Newfoundland.
Sarah is a 6'1" forward from O'Donel High School in Mount Pearl. A highly decorated athlete, Sarah has been a member of the Newfoundland Provincial Team program and has been invited to National Team Age Group Assessment Camps with Canada Basketball.
"Sarah brings a unique set of skills to CBU. She is a highly driven athlete with goals to be an elite player. On the court she has the ability to shoot the ball and can step out on the perimeter to stretch the defense. She also knows her way around the paint. Her ability to score under pressure inside and rebound the basketball will certainly help us in the frontcourt", says Coach McKenzie.
"Off the court Sarah is a great student who gives a great deal of her time to community engagement which is one of the aspects of our program in which we put a lot of effort and pride. She is what we want in a CAPERS student athlete, Committed to success in all aspects of life. I am very excited about Sarah joining our program"
Sarah was asked about her reasons for choosing CBU;
"CBU has the right academic program for me that will challenge me and allow me to grow towards my future goals.
I really enjoyed my time on campus. I'm looking forward to playing with the committed group of girls at CBU. Their exceptional coaching staff and the strong team have what it takes to compete beyond the AUS and I can't wait to be a part of that.
I can see myself fitting into their style of play. On the court I will continue to work in the post while developing my skills as a perimeter player. Off the court, the family atmosphere and strong ties to the community was exactly what I was looking for.
I trust that Coach Mackenzie will push me to my full potential as a student athlete. I'm going to enjoy learning from him.
