CAPERS can't overcome half-time deficit
Sydney, NS – The CAPERS couldn’t overcome an 18 point halftime deficit and dropped an 89-84 decision to the visiting UNB Reds dropped on Friday evening at the Sullivan Fieldhouse.
Sydney, NS – The CAPERS couldn't overcome an 18 point halftime deficit and dropped an 89-84 decision to the visiting UNB Reds dropped on Friday evening at the Sullivan Fieldhouse. The Reds used a dominant 3rd quarter and outscored the home team by a score of 24-7 in the period. They hit open shots and made few mistakes to take a 48-30 lead into the half. The CAPERS battled back in the third and fourth quarters to cut the lead down to 5 with just over a minute to go. CBU outscored the Fredericton school 54-41 in the second half but they weren't able to complete the comeback. The CAPERS were led in scoring by Monique Calliste (Toronto, ON) with 29 pts and MacKenzee Ryan (Glace Bay, NS) who had 22 pts. Sydney Guker-Wickie (Waterloo, ON) also had a strong game with 8 pts and 7 rebounds. The Reds had 4 players score in double-digits and were led by Subway Player of the Game Mikaela Dodig with 21 pts and 5 assists. Bailey Black tied for the team lead with 21 pts.

- The CAPERS' Calliste led all players with 29 pts
- Guker-Wickie and UNB's Krystal Osburn led the game with 7 rebounds apiece
- UNB's Dodig had a game-high 5 assists
- Calliste also went 4 for 4 from behind the arc
