WSOC : CAPERS Top Axewomen
CBU remained undefeated using a big second half to top the Acadia Axewomen 4-1.

Sydney, NS- The undefeated CBU CAPERS survived a scare and came back from a 1st-half deficit to beat the Acadia Axewomen on a cool and breezy Sunday afternoon in Sydney. Emily Nickerson scored a 1st-half goal for Acadia in the 12th minute. Tamara Brown (Whitby, ON) equalized early in the second half in the 49th minute. Ciera DiSipio (Ottawa, ON) scored on a penalty in the 60th minute to put CBU up 2-1. DiSipio scored again in the 78' minute to put the game out of reach. Brown and DiSipio hooked up for one more to make it 4-1. Lysianne Trottier (Barrie, ON) made a pair of saves for the victory.
Turning point – The CAPERS pressured early in the second half to equalize the game. They kept the pressure on throughout the second half earning a penalty when Rachel Leck was taken down just inside the box. Ciera DiSipio took the penalty and slid her shot just past Acadia Keeper Spencer Skinner who went the right way and got a hand on it. The CAPERS continued to press the remainder of the game.

The Axewomen fall to 5-3-1 and are currently in 2nd place
