Capers and Axewomen end in a draw

The CBU CAPERS (3-0-1) and the Acadia Axewomen played a hard-fought game that ended in a draw on Sunday, September 8th at Ness Timmons Field at CBU.
The Axewomen opened the scoring at the 56th minute when Abbie Aucoin (Dartmouth, NS) got the ball over to Riley Bonadie (Ottawa, ON) who headed the ball past CAPERS keeper Ellie Lancaster (Fall River, NS).
Not even a minute later, Grace Hannaford (Enfield, NS) drew a penalty in the box which led to a penalty kick. Ally Rowe (Kitchener, ON) took the kick and managed to get it past Acadia's keeper Milena Ramirez (Wolfville, NS).
The CAPERS pulled ahead with an unassisted goal from rookie Audrey Roy (Petit-Rocher, NB) at the 71-minute mark. Ten minutes later, Axewomen Aucoin – Acadia's player of the game - snuck one past Lancaster to even up the score at 2 each.
The CAPERS had 4 shots on goal for the game while Lancaster – CBU's Subway Player of the Game – faced 14 shots from the Acadia Axewomen.
The CAPERS are at home next weekend against Mount Allison on Saturday, September 14th at 4pm at the Ness Timmons Field, while the Acadia Axewomen are home against the Dalhousie Tigers on Friday the 13th at 5pm and Memorial Seahawks on Saturday the 14th at 1pm.
