CBU goalkeepers Ellie and Jack host free clinic for local youth and coaches
CBU CAPERS Women's program keeper Ellie Lancaster and her Men's Program counterpart Jack Harrington lead a goalkeeper clinic on Saturday, April 5 in the Dome on the CBU Campus. This clinic was free for goalkeepers and coaches registered with Soccer Cape Breton and meant to help build the skills of island keepers and their goalkeeping coaches ahead of the new summer soccer season.
Ellie and Jack are the head goalkeeper coaches in the CAPERS Academy for girls and boys and gave back to the community during these sessions. Goalkeeping is such a specialised position and both Ellie and Jack are helping local youth develop as they develop as coaches themselves.
Soccer Cape Breton had over 25 keepers and coaches attend the event. Regional Director of Soccer Development Iain King said: "With registration now starting to open up across all the island clubs, this was the perfect time for keepers and their coaches to be able to work alongside Ellie and Jack and get ready for the new season."
