Capers continue undefeated run

The Cape Breton University Capers stayed perfect on the season with a 77-69 victory over the visiting University of Prince Edward Island Panthers Friday night at the Sullivan Fieldhouse.
Down one at halftime, the CIS No. 3 ranked Capers shot 44 per cent from the floor in the second half to improve to 15-0 on the season.
AJ Geugjes led the Capers offence, hooping 19 points and grabbing seven rebounds for the winners.
Freshman Shaquille Keith, who missed the last two games due to illness, came up just two assists shy of a triple double, finishing with 14 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.
Jimmy Dorsey also filled the stat sheet for CBU with 12 points, nine assists, seven rebounds and four steals. Sean McCormick rounded out the Capers in double figures, hitting for 14 points and pulling down 11 boards.
Deontay Smith had a game high 25 points to go with seven rebounds for the Panthers while Joey Kendrick chipped in with 17 points and seven rebounds in a losing cause.
The two teams will square off again next weekend when CBU travels to Charlottetown for the rematch.
