Antigonish, NS - The CAPERS began their X-preseason tournament schedule Friday night with a 10 point loss to the St.Mary's Huskies in Antigonish. The CAPERS kept things close in the 1st-half before fading in the 4th-quarter to lose to their AUS rival.
The CAPERS received an excellent performance from 4th-year forward, Kenny Jean-Louis (Montreal, QC) who finished the game with 17pts, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. Jack MacAulay (Charlottetown, PEI) had a good shooting night and finished with 18 points. The CAPERS committed 24 turnovers which led to 24 points off of turnovers. St. Mary's was led in scoring by Kemar Alleyne who scored 20 points for the victors.
This is the second preseason tournament in as many weeks for the road warrior CAPERS who recently just returned from Montreal. 1st-year Head Coach David Petroziello believes respecting the process of preseason will lead to a successfu start come November 4th. Coach was pleased with the improvements he has seen from game to game.
The CAPERS are back in action Saturday at 6pm in Antigonish as they face Holland College.
