(FREDERICTON, NB) The Saint Mary's Huskies overcame a short turnaround and beat the Cape Breton CAPERS 79-60 on day two of UNB's Eric Garland Tournament.
After dropping an 80-75 decision to the host Varsity Reds in Friday's late game, the Huskies were faced with a 4:00pm tip-off on Saturday.
That did little to slow the Huskies, who held the CAPERS to just 11 points in both the first and third quarters.
Kemar Alleyne(Toronto, ON) led the Saint Mary's attack with 15 points, while Jack Tilley(Rothesay, NB) added 14 off the bench.
Martin Campbell (Upper Marlboro, MD) came off the CAPERS bench to lead the team with 14 points. Osman Omar(Mississauga, ON), the CAPERS leading scorer from game 1 scored 13.
The Capers are now 0-2. They face the host Varsity Reds in Sunday's tournament finale at 4pm.
