MBB: CAPERS win 4-point game 81-77

Sydney, NS – The CAPERS defeated the Memorial Seahawks 81-77 to earn a big 4 point win on Saturday night at the Sullivan Fieldhouse.  The CAPERS battled all night using a 7-man rotation that saw them finally take the lead with 3 minutes left in the game. Eugene Kankue (Ottawa, ON) had a huge steal and a block that rallied the CAPERS in the 4^thquarter as they outscored Memorial 25-77 in the final period. The CAPERS were led by Osman Omar (Mississauga, ON) with 26 points and 4 assists and also received 16 points and 14 rebounds from Paul Watson (Mississauga, ON). Kankue finished with 13 points and 5 steals. The Seahawks were led by Emmanuel Ring with 24 points and 12 rebounds in a losing cause.   

Turning point – Eugene Kankue had a steal and a block that led to 4 points in the final 2 minutes of the game that powered the CAPERS to the win.

• Watson led the game with 14 rebounds
• MUN's Jason Thompson had a game-high 7 assists
