Capers shoot into playoffs
October 26, 2013
The Cape Breton University Capers will have a chance to defend their AUS men's soccer title after posting a much-needed win in their final game of the regular season.
Ian Greedy scored three times Saturday at home to pace the Capers to a 6-1 victory over the Memorial Sea-hawks.
The three-goal performance established Greedy as the all-time leading regular season scorer in CBU history. The fourth-year striker now has 34 goals, three better than the previous record of 31 set by Keishen Bean.
Justin Maheu, Sandro Rajkovic and Wyatt Scheller also scored for the Capers, who finished the regular season 5-4-4 and in the sixth and final playoff spot.
Aaron Anstey scored for Memorial.
