Kwabe Boateng fired two goals to lead the Cape Breton Capers men's soccer team to a 4-0 win over the Acadia Axemen in Atlantic University Sport action on Sunday.
The win was the seventh-straight victory for the Capers, who improved to 8-2-1 on the season for second place in the AUS. CBU clinched a berth in the playoffs with the victory.
Andrej Rajic scored the eventual winner in the 19th minute. Boateng followed in the 27th. Ian Greedy added insurance in the 73rd, while Boateng struck again in the 80th.
In goal, Simon Keating made two saves for the shutout.
The draw puts Cape Breton at 5-4-2 on the season for fifth place in the conference. They're still looking to clinch a spot in the post-season.
Saturday in Halifax, Justin Maheu scored a hat trick as the Capers men put the run on the Saint Mary's Huskies, 7-1.
Maheu, a second-year striker from Gatineau, PQ, continues to lead the country in scoring with 15 goals on the season.
Boateng and Mark Stewart scored two goals each in the triumph. The Capers led the game 4-1 after the opening half.
Matthew Campbell had the lone goal for the Huskies.
