CBU to HOST AUS MENS Soccer Championships
Cape Breton University will host the 2017 AUS Men's Soccer Championships from November 2nd-5th
Sydney, NS - Cape Breton University will host the 2017 AUS Men's Soccer Championships. The Championships will take place November 2nd - 5th and all games will be at the CBU Field. The Championships will bring together the Top 6 programs in the AUS and feature 3 days of games. CBU earned the right to host the AUS Championships because they won the 2016 championship and went on to represent the AUS at the U Sports Nationals, finishing in 4th place.
Currently, the CAPERS are in first place in the AUS standings and have secured a first-round bye to the semi-finals. The CAPERS are ranked #3 in National Rankings and have several players who will be up for some AUS awards. The complete schedule is below.
Thursday, Nov. 2
Quarterfinal #1: Memorial (6th) vs. UNB (3rd), 4 p.m.
Quarterfinal #2: UPEI (5th) vs. Acadia (4th), 7 p.m.
Friday, Nov. 3
Semifinal #1: Lowest Remaining Seed vs. Cape Breton (1st), 4 p.m.
Semifinal #2: Highest Remaining Seed vs. StFX (2nd), 7 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 5
Championship Game: Semifinal #1 Winner vs. Semifinal #2 Winner, 2 p.m.
