St. John's, NFLD – It only took 8 seconds for the CBU Capers to find the back of the net, however, their triumph was unfortunately called offside. Not long after, 2nd-year midfielder Jack Simpson (Redding, UK) sent a cross in the box to striker Cory Bent (Preston, UK) who finished CBU's first goal, giving the Capers the lead before half. Joel Eckert-Ayensa (Pulhaim, DE) was able to finish the second goal of the game to give the Capers a comfortable lead early in the second half. Ben Jackson (Bury, UK) earned a clean sheet in the team's victory.
Turning Point: 26th minute, Jack Simpson sent a cross to forward Cory Bent who buried a shot to give the Capers an early lead.
