Capers fall to Panthers

In control through three quarters of play, the Cape Breton University Capers women’s basketball team suffered a defensive lapse in the fourth quarter enroute to a 54-51 loss to the visiting University of Prince Edward Island Panthers Friday.
Colleen Keane had 10 points, nine rebounds, four assists and four steals in a losing cause for CBU.
Tanira McClurkin with nine points and five assists and Brittany Hollins with nine points were other top players for the home side.
Laura Power had a game high 20 points off the bench for UPEI.
Amy Gough added 13 points and eight boards for the Panthers.
The two teams will meet again next Saturday in Charlottetown.
