Capers women drop pair of road games

In AUS women’s basketball action, the Capers lost two games to host Acadia over the weekend.
On Sunday, the AUS No.7-ranked Capers were defeated 84-69 by the No.3-ranked Axewomen.
Tanira McClurkin, a veteran guard for CBU, led the point scoring with 19, while teammates Naudia Campbell and
Brittany Hollins chipped in with 14 and 13 points respectively.
Campbell also had 12 rebounds on the day.
Kristy Moore led Acadia with a game-high 25 points, while Rita Leila Sibo added 20 and Abbey Duinker added 18
points.
Rachel Savage netted another 13 points for the team.
The Capers lost Saturday’s battle against Acadia 65-57.
Leading the Capers was Hope Edwards with 17 points, McClurkin with 14 points and Campbell with nine points.
Colleen Keane led on rebounds with nine.
For the Axewomen, Moore scored 20 points, while Duinker and Sibo had 12.
Lindsay Harris added another 11 points to Acadia’s tally.
