Capers down UNB 57-52

It was a solid all around effort for the Cape Breton University Capers women’s basketball team as they led from start to finish while posting an 57-52 victory over the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds in AUS action Friday in Sydney.
Guard Tanira McClurkin had 19 points to pace the Capers offence as CBU improved to 5-14 on the season.
Brittany Hollins added 12 points and Colleen Keane nine points and seven rebounds for the winners.
For UNB, Claire Colborne had a game-high 21 points and 13 rebounds.
Tilly Ettinger chipped in with nine points in a losing cause.
The two teams will wrap up the AUS regular season Saturday at the Sullivan Fieldhouse when they take to the court at 2 p.m.
