A fourth quarter defensive stand helped erase a 10-point deficit as the Cape Breton Capers defeated the Memorial Sea-Hawks 54-50 in AUS women's basketball action in Sydney.
Rasheeka Gunn had 15 points and five rebounds for the Capers, who outscored the visitors 19-5 in the fourth quarter.
Alison Keough chipped in with 12 points and nine rebounds for the Capers while Colleen Keane added eight points and nine rebounds in a winning cause.
Tianna Brown with 10 points and eight rebounds and Chante Carke with nine points were top players for Memorial.
The two teams will be back in action Sunday in a 12 noon start at the Sullivan Fieldhouse.
