Capers fall to Voyageurs

The Cape Breton University Capers dropped a 67-54 decision to the visiting Laurentian Voyageurs in preseason women's basketball action Saturday at Centre 200 in Sydney.

Danielle Harris had 20 points, seven rebounds and seven assists for the visitors while Meghan Forestell added 14 points.

Valentina Primossi led the Capers with 13 points and five rebounds.

Hannah Brown came off the bench and had 11 points and six rebounds in 10 minutes  for the Capers while Alison Keough and Colleen Keane chipped in with 10 points apiece in a losing cause.

Keough also had 14 rebounds to record the double-double.

After winning the opener in the three-game series 76-57 Friday in Sydney Mines, the Capers will look to close out the series with another win Sunday when the two teams meet at the Sullivan Fieldhouse.

Game time is 1 p.m.
