CAPERS DOMINATE X 80-46
The Cape Breton CAPERS women's basketball team head into the holiday break with big win.
Sydney, NS – The CAPERS ended their 1st semester on a winning note with an 80-46 victory over St.FX on Wednesday night at the Sullivan Field House. CBU (6-1) led from start to finish in a lopsided win for the home team over the visiting X-Women (0-6).
The CAPERS were once again led by the AUS leading scorer Alison Keough (Marion Bridge, NS) who finished with 28 points and 10 rebounds to go along with 5 steals. CBU enjoyed strong guard play from Valentina Primossi (Trieste, IT) with 15 points and 3 assists. Hannah Brown (North Sydney, NS) had a strong game off the bench for the CAPERS with 11 points and 4 rebounds.
The CAPERS shot almost 50% from the field and held the X-Women to just 31.4% from the floor. The CAPERS generated 19 steals on defence during a complete effort.
The X-Women got 15 points and 4 assists from Chelsea Provo (East Preston, NS) and were led off the bench by Jessica Miller (Mount Denson, NS) with 6 points and 2 steals.
The X-Women will play host to Saint Mary's on November 26th. The CAPERS will now break for the semester. They open the second half by hosting the UNB Varsity Reds on January 6th, with tip off at 6pm.
