Sydney, NS – The CAPERS defeated the UNB Reds 79-74 in a battle of unbeaten teams at the Sullivan Fieldhouse on Friday night. The first half was a tale of two vastly different quarters. The Reds got off to a fast start and opened up a 25-10 lead at the end of the 1stquarter. The CAPERS returned the favour with a 30-11 second quarter. The second half was a close contest from start to finish as the two teams traded buckets for most of the half with CAPERS having a 39-38 advantage. The CAPERS were led by Monique Calliste (Toronto, ON) with 24 pts, 7 rebounds and Hannah Brown (North Sydney, NS) with 23 points and 9 rebounds. The Reds received strong efforts from Krystal Osburn and Ja'Yon Leak each with 14 points.
Turning point – The CAPERS used a big second quarter, outscoring UNB 30-11 to get back into the game and take a lead that they would never relinquish.
