April 7, 2025
The Cape Breton University Women's Basketball Program is proud to welcome Elizandra Costa to the program. Elizandra is a point guard from Manchester, England who is currently playing for the Manchester Mystics. She will join the CAPERS squad in Atlantic University Sport play for the 2025-26 basketball season.
"I decided to choose CBU because I've always wanted to compete at the highest level and get a good education," Costa says on the topic of her choice to attend CBU in the fall. "I immediately felt like CBU was the place to go to as I know there is a welcoming environment and strong academic programs which makes me comfortably believe the university will help me grow both as an athlete and a person."
Costa tells us she plans to bring strong defensive energy, to lock down the opponent and make that extra pass when she wears CAPER orange next season. "I'm also focused on improving my shooting efficiency so I can be a bigger offensive threat," she adds. "Overall, my goal is to help the team win in any way possible."
Coach McKenzie is very excited to welcome Elizandra to the CAPERS program. "We are very happy to add Liz to our roster for next year. She is a tremendous young lady who brings a high performance mindset and a very nice package of skills to the lineup. I am excited to help her grow on and off the court to reach her goals."
Welcome to the CAPER family, Elizandra!
