Make it nine in a row for the Cape Breton University Capers women’s soccer team who extended their season-long unbeaten streak with a 1-0 victory over the Saint Mary’s Huskies Sunday in Sydney.
The win improved the CIS No. 7 ranked Capers to 7-0-2 on season, good for 23 points and first place in the AUS standings.
Second-year striker Shanice Maxwell was the game’s lone goal scorer, providing the Capers with the margin of victory when she scored late in the first half.
Tiffany O’Donnell made five saves in the Capers goal for the shutout.
The Capers will be on the road this weekend when they travel to Charlottetown Saturday to face the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers and to Sackville Sunday to face the Mount Allison Mounties.
