Capers soccer women add to win column

The unstoppable Cape Breton University women's soccer team picked up another victory Sunday as they shut out the Moncton Aigles Bleues 3-0 in Atlantic University Sport action.
Tiffany Johnson and Karolyne Blaine potted goals in the second half for the league-leading CBU team (7-0-4), while Robbyn McNeill scored on a penalty kick for the Capers.
Tiffany O'Donnell kept fourth-place Moncton at bay with three saves in 90 minutes of play, while
Moncton keeper Catherine Poirier made two saves and allowed three goals in the loss. Cape Breton was ahead 4-1 on corner kicks.
A day earlier, the Capers defeated the University of New Brunswick Varsity Reds 3-1 while visiting Fredericton, N.B.

Also picking up a goal was second-year player Kara MacKinnon.
For the Reds, Meggie Spicer scored in a losing cause.
Tiffany O'Donnell again captured the win for CBU with eight saves, while Kelsie Hope made
eight saves in the loss. Cape Breton was ahead on corner kicks 7-1.
On Sunday, the Capers men's team was edged 3-2 by the Moncton Aigles Bleues.
Ian Greedy and Max Raab scored single markers for CBU in the loss.
The winning goal was scored by Jonathon Stephenson, while Phillippe DeGrace and Amadou
Fall rounded Moncton's offense.
In net, Samuel Charron picked up the win with 10 saves, while Ethan MacInnis turned aside two shots in the loss.
The CBU men's team was also defeated 1-0 Saturday, by the University of New Brunswick
Varsity Reds.
Robert Park scored the game winner at 6:37 in the first half.
Brandon Eagle was the winning netminder with four saves, while Ethan MacInnis was tagged
with the loss with six saves
