Blain sets scoring record as Capers egde Sea-hawks 1-0

The Cape Breton University Capers women's soccer team wrapped up their second consecutive undefeated regular season Sunday with a 1-0 win over the Memorial Sea-hawks in Sydney.
MVP candidate Karolyne Blain scored her 14th goal of the season to provide the margin of victory for the Capers, who finished 9-0-4 on the year and stretched their regular season undefeated streak to 31 games.
With the goal, Blain also broke the Capers single season scoring record which she had shared with former Caper Kristina Weatherbie.
Tiffany O'Donnell made three saves for the Capers to record the shutout. Hannah Noseworthy made five saves in the Memorial goal.
As the regular season champs, the Capers will have a bye into the AUS women's soccer championship semifinals this weekend being hosted by Mount Allison University.
