A day after struggling to find an offensive flow, the Cape Breton University Capers caught fire Sunday enroute to a 6-0 victory over Moncton in AUS women's soccer action in Sydney.
Fifth-year striker Karolyne Blain had a pair of goals in the 30th and 80th minutes to give her 45 in 46 career games, tying the CBU record held by Kristina Weatherbie.
Tamara Brown, with her second of the season, in the 61st minute, Chelsea Currie in the 15th minute, Keona Simmonds in the 67th minute and Kara MacKinnon in the 84th minute also scored for the Capers, who improved to 1-0-1 on the season.
Lysianne Trottier recorded the win in the Capers goal.
CBU will be on the road next weekend when they travel to Charlottetown this Saturday for a 3 p.m. game with the University of Prince Edward Island Panthers before moving on to Sackville Sunday for a 1 p.m. start against the Mount Allison Mounties.
