On Sunday, October 25 the Dalhousie Tigers took on the Cape Breton Capers at Wickwire Field with 120 supporters in attendance. The final score of the game was 3-0 for Cape Breton over Dalhousie.
Just after 20 minutes into the first half, the Capers' Keona Simmonds (Brampton, ON) scored the first goal of the game after chipping the ball over Dalhousie's keeper,Katie Morgan (Calgary, AB), Simmonds got the ball again and finished the goal. Minutes later, the Capers scored their second goal of the game from an assist made by Simmonds for Chelsea Currie (Coxheath, NS) to make the goal.
Later in the half, Morgan made an excellent save for the Tigers after a corner kick that came through from the Capers. The Capers had good control of the ball and worked well by building the play up the field. With only minutes left in the half,Victoria Parkinson (Halifax, NS) was handed a yellow card after a foul. The first half came to a close with the Capers in the lead at 2-0 over the Tigers.
Right from the start of the second half, Simmonds secured the Capers' win with an early goal. 47 minutes into the game, Ciera Disipio (Ottawa, ON) got the ball to Simmonds who put the ball in the back of the Tigers' net. Dalhousie's April Trowbridge (Halifax, NS) had a great second half and made 5 shots on net that were either just over the cross bar, or saved by Cape Breton's keeper, Lysianne Trottier (Barrie, ON), who had 10 saves throughout the game. The final score at the end of the game was 3-0 for the Capers over the Tigers.
Player of the game for the Cape Breton Capers was Keona Simmonds who had 2 goals and an assist throughout the game. Player of the game for the Dalhousie Tigers was Kristy McGregor-Bales who had a very strong defensive game as centre back.
Dalhousie's (4-5-2) next game will be away against StFX (5-5-1) on Saturday, October 31st at 1pm. Cape Breton's (8-2-1) next game will also be on October 31st at 1pm against Saint Mary's (2-8-1).

(Halifax, NS) In AUS women's soccer action Saturday afternoon, the visiting CBU Capers were too much for the Huskies in a powerful 8-0 win.
The AUS 2nd place Capers got on the board midway through the 1st on a goal by Kara MacKinnon. Goals followed from Clara Diesipio (26:03) and Karolyne Blain (33:44) to give CBU a 3-0 lead heading into halftime.
In the 2nd half, it was all Capers again. Goals coming in quickly by Robyn Novorsisky, Lauren Pasher, Karolyne Blain (her second) and then followed by two from Chantal Caron.
The Huskies are on the road next weekend when they travel to CBU and StFX for their last regular season games of the season.
