WSOC: Seniors lead CAPERS over Mounties
The CBU CAPERS senior players led the way on Senior Day to an 8-0 victory over the Mount Allison Mounties on Sunday afternoon.

Sydney, NS- The seniors came through on Senior Day as the Cape Breton University CAPERS defeated the Mount Allison Mounties on Sunday afternoon. Seniors Tamara Brown (Whitby, ON) with 2 goals and Keona Simmonds (Brampton, ON) with 1 goal gave the CAPERS a 3-0 lead at halftime. The CAPERS continued to score goals in the second half. Brown, Simmonds, Ciera DiSipio (Ottawa, ON), Amelia Carlini (Ottawa, ON) and senior Becky Hanna (Howie Centre, NS) all scored second-half goals. Rachel Yerxa (Mississauga, ON) got the start for the CAPERS and made 2 saves for the victory and another clean sheet.
Turning point – The first-place CAPERS attacked the Mounties early and often in the first half. They used a barrage of shots, 17 in the first half to get up on Mount Allison.
