(Sackville, NB) - The Cape Breton Capers defeat the Mount Allison Mounties 8-2 on Sunday, October 21, on Alumni Field.
The match began with a lot of action. Mounties senior Katherine Ollerhead scored the first goal of the game, a beautiful header goal, in the 6thminute. The Capers quickly rebound with a goal in the 10thminute by #16 Chelsea Foote, another goal in the 13thminute by #8 Ciera Disipio and yet another goal in the 15thminute by #6 Chantal Caron.
The Capers weren't done yet. Ciera Disipio scored again in the 27thminute. Rookie Erin Freeman and Junior Madison Goodliffe scored in the 36thand 37thminute. Score at the half was 6-1 CBU.
Quickly into the second half, the CBU keeper fouled Mountie striker Taryn MacMillan in the 18-yard box. The Mounties were awarded a penalty kick, which sophomore Amanda Piltzmaker took and scored.
#8 Ciera Disipio scored her third goal of the game in the 51stminute. Caper #18 Rebecca Lambke scored CBU's 8thand final goal in the 89thminute.
The Subway Player of the Game was awarded to CBU Caper Ciera Disipio, for her hat-trick this game. She is now tied for goal leaders in the AUS 2018-19 season.
The next and final game for the Mounties is Friday, October 26 in Fredericton, NB, against UNB. The Capers travel to Wolfville, NS on Friday, October 26 to face the Acadia Axewomen.
