In the 31st minute, Rachel Leck (Pickering, ON) got past the Memorial fullbacks and made a great shot at the top corner of the net to open up the scoring and give the CBU Capers the 1-0 lead. CBU had a few other good runs but they were not able to find the back of the net and the score stayed 1-0 at halftime
The second half started with Memorial playing with an edge showing that they are stronger than what they looked in the first, getting a few shots on Capers keeper Haley Kardas (Halifax, NS). In the 58th minute, Memorial's Lauren Taylor (St. John's NL) assisted Spencer Wilkins (St, John's NL) for the goal to tie the game. The tie didn't last for long because in the 64th minute Mackinzie Smith (Ottawa, ON) shot a dazzling chip shot to give the Capers a 2-1 lead in one of the most back and forth games they have had all season.
Haley Kardas (Halifax, NS) is did a great job this game getting low, directing her team and also making sure that she always had a great angle on the ball at all times! She made a few highlight saves throughout the game to keep the Sea-Hawks off the scoreboard as much as possible.
