CBU CAPERS Game Day Staff Positions

 

 

 

 

Game Day Lead: responsible for game set-up and take-down, in-game promotions, and supervision of staff. You must possess excellent communication skills, be friendly and outgoing, be adaptable and well organized. Previous experience as an event staff member is a strong asset. Game Day Leads will arrive 1-2 hours prior to the event & remain on-site until post-game tasks are complete. Full year commitment. Minimum wage plus $1.50

 

Ticket Scanner: Ticket scanners are required for all varsity sports. You will process game tickets from patrons entering the game, scanning hard copy or electronic tickets and directing patrons to their seating section when required. CBU students must show valid student ID’s for entry where applicable. You will also be required to check for tickets throughout the duration of the game as fans exit and re-enter the venue. You must be friendly, attentive and assertive in checking for appropriate entry into the games. Minimum wage.

 

Promotions Staff: Staff are required to work at various promotional tables in all varsity sports. This could include selling merchandise or promotional materials, explaining in-game contests and events and executing such contests and events during stoppages in play. Additionally, promotions staff are responsible for selling 50/50 tickets at select events, using an electronic ticketing system (training available). You must be outgoing, friendly and enthusiastic and communicate well. You must be trustworthy and bondable. Minimum wage.

 

Mascot: responsible for wearing the CAPER mascot costume at specific times during the varsity home games and for other athletics associated events. This staff member but be very outgoing and energetic. The mascot is expected to interact with fans in a fun manner and with the student-athletes at certain points before and after the games. The staff member must have a minimum height of 5’6” in order to be able to wear the costume. Minimum wage plus $1.50.

 

Scorekeeper: Scorekeepers are responsible for tracking all game information and statistics on the official hard copy game score sheet. You must be very familiar with the playing rules & regulations of the sport, be adaptable and quick thinking. Please note that this position is separate from the statistician position, which is strictly computer-based. Training session(s) may be required. Minimum wage.

 

Score Clock Operator: Score clock operators are responsible for operating the official game score clock throughout the duration of the game, including pre-game warm-up time. You must be very familiar with the playing rules & regulations of the sport, be adaptable and quick thinking. Training session(s) will be provided as required. Minimum wage.

 

Soccer Ball Retrievers: There are 4-5 ball retriever staff needed for each soccer game to travel up and down the sidelines or in the end zones, retrieving soccer balls as they are kicked out of play. You must be attentive and quick on your feet. Minimum wage.

 

Statistician: Statisticians are responsible for recording all game statistics and play-by-play information into the online stats program and are required for soccer, basketball and hockey. You will provide quarterly/intermission, half-time and post-game stats summaries to coaches and media as needed. You must be very familiar with the playing rules & regulations of the sport, be adaptable and quick thinking, perform well in a fast-paced varsity game setting, and possess strong computer skills. Training session(s) may be required. Minimum wage.

 

Statistician Spotter: Statistician spotters are responsible for assisting the statistician with the recording of all game statistics and play-by-play information, as they relay real-time game information to the statistician throughout the duration of the game. You must be very familiar with the playing rules & regulations of the sport, be adaptable and quick thinking and perform well in a fast-paced varsity game setting. Training session(s) will be required. Minimum wage.

 

Social Media/Digital Content Assistant: This position is suitable for someone very familiar with social media platforms, primarily Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, and with the flexibility to commit hours both during the week and on evenings/weekends as the varsity home schedule requires. They will assist with the promotion of pre-planned content, as well as in-game photo/video/live content on CBU Athletics social media accounts. Minimum wage.
